Ford GT Back As Hybrid Car?

Ford GT Back As Hybrid Car?

Ford GT Back As Hybrid Car?

Rumors are circulating that a hybrid Ford GT successor are sounds clearlier today. A page at Auto Express has fired the things up with a report claiming that the next generation car will bring a supercharged V8 engine with an electric motor. The drivers will supposedly able to bring an extra boost with the batteries by only pushing a button.

More interestingly, Auto Express is saying that while the forced induction V8 engine will be left to put the power to the rear wheels, the tires in the front side will be spun by only the electric motor. It means that in effect, the next GT will be an all wheel drive vehicle. It is something that would work with the grain of the vehicle’s legacy.

If these report is true, the total power of the car will be around 600 horsepower, giving this GT successor teeths that it needs to tango with the other cars such as the Lamborghini Gallardo, McLaren MP4-12C, and the Ferrari 458 Italia. The only problem with the line of thought is that while the rumors of the GT’s arrival still circulating, those cars will be somewhere around two or three years old.

In the year of 1960s, the Monte Carlo Rally ran from Marrakech to Monaco, and the old Mini made headlines when the car reach the finish line in ’64 and ’67. Nowadays, Dakar Rally has been moved to South Africa. However, the Monte Carlo rally is the part of Intercontinental Rally Challenge instead of the World Rally Championship. Though the scene has changed, Mini is back in a big way.

Mini will be challenging the World Rally Championship with the competition spec Countryman car which is prepared by Prodrive. While the final version of the car enters the latest stage of development for the 2011 season, this Mini WRC car has taken some rapid trip down memory lane through reuniting with thei ’60s forebear in Rally Monte Carlo Historique.

The trip is not only providing an excellent photo opportunity, but also gave us the first look of the rally ready Countryman WRC before it runs the final testing in Spain. After the test, the car will challenge some stages at the hands of Dani Sordo and Kris Meeke before contesting for the full season next year.

2012 BMW 6 Series Goes To Shanghai

2012 BMW 6 Series Goes To Shanghai

Rumors has said that BMW is planning to unveil their next BMW 6 Series Coupe for the upcoming Shanghai Motor Show that will be held in April. According to the Dutch version of AutoWeek site, it only makes since the big two door car will take a bow around this spring while the concept version was debuted at the previous 2010 Paris Motor Show last fall. While there are more than just a spy photos crop up recently, this rumor is seems to be pretty accurate.

The report is also said that buyers can first expect to be able to buy the coupe in either 640i or 650i models, while the additional models will showing up later down the line. However, this is not the most interesting thing of the rumor.

The AutoWeek site is also reporting that BMW is now slaving away for the sedan version of this 6 Series. The car is supposedly make use of the same coupe body lines just like the two door brethren. This kind of vehicle will allow BMW to tango with another ever popular car such as Mercedes Benz CLS. However, I don’t thing that there will be more room available in the Roundel’s stable for yet another sedan.
